CV or Resume - uploaded for profile enrichment (stored encrypted)

2.3 Usage Data

Search Queries - logged to improve recommendations
Alert Settings - saved preferences for job notifications
IP Address & Browser Info - for security and analytics

To create and maintain your account
To send alert notifications about relevant postdoc positions
To power embedding-based semantic matching (matching your research to positions)
To improve platform features and user experience
To comply with legal obligations

We implement industry-standard security measures:

Passwords - hashed with bcrypt, never stored in plaintext
Database - PostgreSQL with SSL/TLS encryption in transit
Hosting - Render.com with automated backups

ORCID - to import your public research profile (with OAuth consent)
OpenAlex - to enrich PI data and research metadata
Google Gemini API - for embedding generation (no personally identifiable information sent)
Job Scraping Sources - EURAXESS, FindAPostdoc, etc. (public listings only)

6. Email & Alerts

When you create alerts, we send email notifications based on your frequency preference (weekly or monthly). Each email includes an unsubscribe link. You can:

Unsubscribe from a specific alert - click the unsubscribe link in any email
Manage all alerts - visit your alerts dashboard
Modify frequency - change weekly/monthly settings anytime
